Struggling with Paying your Taxes -- Get a Fresh Start -- IRS Eases Offer in Compromise Program

FLAT FEE TAX SERVICE, INC.

WILL PREPARE

STREAMLINED OFFER in COMPROMISE

for

ELIGIBLE TAXPAYERS

Are you a struggling taxpayer?

Are you a struggling taxpayer who can't pay the IRS your back tax debt?

The IRS will accept your IRS settlement through the new Streamlined Offer in Compromise program.

On February 24, 1011, Commissioner Shulman of the Internal Revenue Service / IRS announced an initiative that will help struggling taxpayers receive a fresh start regarding their back tax liabilities. This new initiative, known as a Streamlined Offer in Compromise, centers on changes the IRS has made in their collection procedures. These IRS changes are designed to lessen the negative impact on struggling taxpayers.

THE IRS COLLECTION PROCEDURAL CHANGES:

Adjustments to IRS Liens Policy -
  • Significantly increasing the dollar threshold when an IRS tax lien is generally issued. This should result in fewer IRS tax liens.
  • Taxpayers should find it easier to obtain a lien withdrawal one a back tax debt is paid.
  • The IRS will withdraw a tax lien, in most cases, when a taxpayer enters into a Direct Debit Installment Agreement.
STREAMLINED OFFER in COMPROMISE PROGRAM

The new Streamlined Offer in Compromise Program includes:
  • The IRS will have fewer requests for additional information.
  • Should it be necessary, the IRS will request additional by phone and not by mail.
  • The IRS will allow greater flexibility when considering a taxpayer's ability to pay their back tax debt.
Qualified Taxpayers for the Streamlined Offer in Compromise Program are:
  • Wage Earners
  • Unemployed
  • Self Employed taxpayers who have no employees and gross receipts under $500,000.00
Streamlined Offer in Compromise Eligibility Requirements:
  • A struggling taxpayer has a total household income of $100,000.00 or less,
  • The amount of back tax debt is less than $50,000.00 at the time that your Streamlined Offer in Compromise is filed.
THE OFFER in COMPROMISE:

An IRS settlement through the Offer in compromise program allows a struggling taxpayer to settle their back tax debt for less than the entire amount of the tax liability. An Offer in Compromise is a legitimate option when a taxpayer cannot pay the entire amount of the back tax debt. IRS collection enforcement would create a financial hardship on the taxpayer.

The IRS will consider a struggling taxpayer's unique set of facts and circumstances. These include:
  • A taxpayer's ability to pay.
  • A taxpayer's income.
  • A taxpayer's expenses.
  • A taxpayer's asset equity.
THE IRS EMPLOYS A COMPLICATED FORMULA REGARDING AN

OFFER in COMPROMISE

The IRS will generally approve an Offer in Compromise when the settlement amount offered by a struggling taxpayer represents the largest amount that the IRS can expect to be paid within a reasonable amount of time. You can expect the IRS to pressure you into accepting an ill advised Installment Agreement.

THE IRS IS JUST NOT GOING TO GIVE UP

AND

ACCEPT EVERYONE'S OFFER TO SETTLE

The Offer in Compromise program is not for everyone. Not everyone is eligible. The IRS will continually look for reasons to reject your Offer in Compromise. The IRS will not give you a reason for the rejected Offer in Compromise and will simply call it "unprocessible."

YOU MUST BE ELIGIBLE

You must be Compliant. That means that you have filed your tax returns with the IRS. You must be current with your tax filings. You are not eligible for an IRS settlement through the Offer in compromise program if you are currently in a Bankruptcy.
